BELRIEVE WORKING KELPIES
Belrieve was established in 1998 after purchasing a young two year old dog, Kywarra Smiler, who was to be used over our line of Kelpies that our family had been breeding and working in our livestock operation for generations.
Although our dogs had never been registered, prior to 1998, a firm demand for the style of dog we worked and bred had always made our pups sought after, so when we introduced "Smiler's" genetics, the demand for his progeny escalated, which prompted us to look into purchasing a registered bitch and start breeding WKC registered dogs.
In applying our strict selection criteria, we sought out and purchased
"Gulligal Rosie", as a pup to be trained and become our first registered bitch. She developed into a very tough and tireless worker, with super model looks.
Unfortunately we lost Rosie in an accident the day after she whelped with her maiden litter. "Belrieve Budweizer" was raised by hand from this litter, and has gone on to be a strong breeder and worker for us. His progeny are all exceptional workers, and as a prepotent sire his daughters are producing high quality work dogs that are sought after Internationally.
Maintaining type, style and natural working ability is important to us, and no Bitch or dog is used for breeding purposes unless it is first proven to be an outstanding work dog. With this in mind when introducing outside genetics we can confidently bank on the working ability and suitablity of the pups we offer for sale. With the versatility of our genetics we now have dogs working in all states of Australia. In 2009 we exported our first dogs into Europe.
A quick look across our pedigree's will reveal a wide aray of gentics and influential sires and dams from various other current and past WKC Studs. Our blending of these varied gentics according to our work requirements have produced the dogs we have today.
We are very proud of the style, trainability, instinct and type we have bred into our dogs, all display these wonderful Kelpie traits.
We trust they will serve you well, and give you many years of faithful service.
